Autauga County Sheriff's Office First Murder of 2020

In the mist of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Autauga County Sheriff's Office responded to their first murder of 2020.

At approximately 1:30 am on Monday March 23, 2020, the Autauga County Sheriff's Office received a call on a subject shot in the 700 block of Blueberry Hill Road.  Upon Deputies arrival they found 62 year old Black Male; Marcus Wayne Warren; deceased from a gun shot wound.  Warren was a staff member at Magnolia Wood Therapeutic Home.

Investigators arrested 22 year old Black Male; Devonta Wayaire Brown; and charged him with Murder.  Brown is being held in the Autauga Metro Jail on a $60,000 bond.

Additional charges may be forthcoming on Brown, as the investigation continues.
